March Madness
Since it's now March and Spring has just begun, I think it is appropriate to talk about the NCAA Tournament in this blog post. March Madness is the best month of sports in all of sports because of the crazy games and all the upsets and unexpected things that happen. You never know what is going to happen because just because you are the best team doesn't mean you are going to win it all. Actually, the overall #1 seed or the best team overall doesn't win the tournament most of the time. That is the great thing about March Madness and it is the reason why it is the best tournament in sports to watch. You get to see a bunch of college kids playing their hearts out unlike the guys in the NBA who only care about their next big contract or being on SportsCenter's Top 10. These college student-athletes are out on a mission to prove themselves and that their team is the real deal. Over the past few years there have been some crazy tournaments involving a ton of buzzer beaters/game winning shots, "Cinderella" teams going to the Final Four, and a ton of madness. On top of allt hat, every year people all over the world fill out brackets attempting to pick the perfect bracket and there is always that one team that ruins it for everyone pulling off a huge upset and going deep into the tournament. Recently we have seen a bunch of teams ruin brackets such as Norfolk State and Lehigh winning as 15 seeds this year. Mike, I completely agree with what you had to say about March Madness. It is an insane month of basketball, full of some the greatest performances, upsets, and "Cinderella" teams. I agree that March Madness is the best three weeks of basketball we will have the entire basketball season. I also think that it is great that so many people get into it by filling out brackets. Overall, good post.

I am a huge fan of basketball because I am a player myself, as you may know by announcing me as Kevin Love a multitude of times, and I love March Madness. In my opinion it is the greatest time of the year. A time when colleagues all set aside their differences in order to play a silly bracket in hopes of winning. It is also a time when alumni can wear their schools proudly, or not so proudly, on their chests. Everyone in some way can enjoy march madness. Not only do these reasons make it so great, but also the excellent display of basketball is unmatchable. Great post Michael Jack Marcantonini!

DeleteMike, this post is very enjoyable. I cannot say I disagree with a word that you say. March Madness is an excellent time of the year, I just cannot get enough of it. All of the upsets and the passions that the kids show is inspiring and makes for amazing drama. The 15 seeds winning this year was crazy especially seeing Lehigh, a local team, winning was very cool. Your post really highlights what this tournament is all about, heart and passion. These kids are playing for their schools and teams and are not getting the big bucks to do so. I love this time of year and keeping up with my bracket as all the results go final! A great post, keep it up!
